The legendary singer laughed over the recent loss at the 64th Grammy Awards.
Legendary Afrobeat singer, songwriter, performer and instrumentalist, Femi Anikulapo Kuti has reacted to a post after his recent loss at the 64th Grammy Awards.
The 59-year-old musician, who is also the son of Nigerian afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti, bagged two nominations at the recently held 2022 Grammy awards. His song “Pà Pá Pà” was nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category, in which he lost to Pakistani singer Arooj Aftab.
The ace singer’s double album with his son Made Kuti, titled “Legacy,” was also nominated in the Best Global Music Album category, in which they lost to Beninese iconic singer Angélique Kidjo, who took away the prize with her “Mother Nature” album.
Femi, who has been nominated for the Grammys no less than five times and hasn’t won any yet, reacted to a comic Grammy-related twitter post.
A fan posted a funny meme video that insinuated how tired Femi Kuti will be if he is nominated for another Grammy.
The award-winning singer laughed at the joke, using that medium to congratulate Angelique Kidjo as well.
Femi Kuti went on to express how tired he was of being nominated without winning, citing the fact that he had been nominated five times in a row.
