Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney on Tuesday hailed Alberta's overwhelming rejection of secession as a victory for national unity, handing him a much-needed political boost as he seeks to unify the country amid a trade war with the United States.
"It's a great day for Canada," Carney said, "It's a great result for Canada that Albertans have chosen unity, they've chosen to build together."
