“Earle Meets World” (Netflix) — Sept. 4

Social media star Alix Earle and her family bring their messy family dynamics and chronically online behavior to Netflix this fall. After her stint on “Dancing With the Stars” last year, Earle has been thrust into a new level of stardom. The first season of the Netflix reality series sees Earle break down over her breakup with NFL star Braxton Berrios, hint at her possible fling with Tom Brady and finally reveal what really happened between her and her former boss Alex Cooper. The show expands beyond Alix, though. Her family’s complicated past comes into full display as both Alix and her sister Ashtin navigate their blended family, tense moments with their stepmom (and former escort Ashley Dupree), their mom’s breast cancer diagnosis and having their dad as a manager. “Earle Meets World” premieres on Netflix Sept. 4. — Tess Patton

“A Tale of Two Cities” (MGM+) — Sept. 6

The best of times and the worst of times are soon coming to MGM+ and BBC One in a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities.” Kit Harington stars in the series as Sydney Carton, a lawyer who falls in love with Lucie Manette (Mirren Mack). Lucie, in turn, falls in love with Charles Darnay (François Civil), a wealthy man who is represented by Sydney in court. The two characters bear a strong resemblance to each other — and, appropriately, Harington and Civil do too. “A Tale of Two Cities,” created and written by Daniel West, joins Ti West’s Johnny Depp-led “Ebeneezer” as one of two Dickens adaptations coming to the screen this fall, so you might want to start hitting the books sooner than later. — Casey Loving

“Dang!” (Netflix) — Sept. 8

A new adult animated show is coming from some major comedy alums. “Dang!” comes from Andrew Law, Matt Murray and Mike Schur, who previously worked together on “The Good Place.” The series follows a group of three siblings: narcissistic baby of the family Eunice (Poppy Liu), the chronically anxious middle child Andrew (Law) and the high-achieving oldest daughter Ruthie (Stephanie Hsu). But when Ruthie’s life falls apart in the wake of an affair and divorce, the absolute worst will happen to Eunice and Andrew. Their older sister will actually want to hang out with them. The chaotic and silly series about the unique love and hatred all siblings share comes from Universal Television with Titmouse serving as its animation studio. — Kayla Cobb

“The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” (FX) — Sept. 8

FX’s popular drug-fueled drama gets a spinoff in September. “The Drop: A Snowfall” saga picks up with fan favorite characters Wanda and Leon from the original series. They’re in LA in the ‘90s and moving drugs in the midst of the cocaine epidemic in the city while also navigating the rising world of hip hop. If you loved the tense original series, “The Drop” looks to be all of that in a new era. — Jacob Bryant

“High Value Target: The Hunt For Saddam” (TNT) — Sept. 13

CIA analyst John Nixon’s high-stakes interrogation of dictator Saddam Hussein is getting the Hollywood treatment in TNT’s upcoming political thriller “High Value Target: The Hunt for Saddam.” Inspired by Nixon’s memoir “Debriefing the President,” the eight-episode series chronicles the pair’s exchanges following the former Iraqi president’s capture in December 2003 in the search for weapons of mass destruction. The show also explores the far-reaching consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the ripple effect it would have across the world for decades to come. “High Value Target” will star Joel Kinnaman as Nixon and Waleed Zuaiter as Hussein. Rounding out the cast is Lena Góra, Rebecca Night, Ewan Miller, Tom Berenger, Matt Barr, Paul Ryan, Christopher McDonald, Dar Salim and Talia Balsam. — Lucas Manfredi

“Dancing With the Stars” Season 35 (ABC) — Sept. 15

After its ratings boom in the last several seasons, “Dancing With the Stars” will bring celebrities back to the ballroom this fall. Previously announced stars include “Summer House” star Ciara Miller, “Traitors” and “Love Island” alum Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas athlete Jackson Olson and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” co-host Guillermo Rodriguez. Reigning mirrorball champion Witney Carson will join the Kimmel sidekick this season, competing months into her pregnancy. The new season will also feature the winner of spinoff “The Next Pro” Adele Zaikman. The world champion ballroom dancer will bring her skills to the ABC dance competition series with a partner yet to be announced. The full cast will be revealed on “Good Morning America” Sept. 2, so stay tuned for more. — TP

“Slow Horses” Season 6 (Apple TV) — Sept. 16

Apple TV’s “Slow Horses” returns Sept. 16 with its sixth season in four years — proving that, even in this age of streaming Prestige TV, it is still possible to deliver complete, high-quality seasons of television year in and year out. While much looks the same in “Slow Horses” Season 6, though, the show’s new episodes will be the first made without the oversight of longtime head writer Will Smith, who stepped away after the series’ astonishing fifth season due to scheduling conflicts. If “Slow Horses” manages to survive that transition, then it will be hard to imagine any other show having a stronger case for being the most reliable title on TV right now. — Alex Welch

“Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story” (Netflix) — Sept. 17

It’s a rhyme that’s been burned into the minds of nearly every elementary and middle school-aged child: “Lizzie Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41.” Now this notorious American crime story is being retold by Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy. Starring Ella Beatty, Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Barden, Joey Pollari, Billie Lourd and Sarah Paulson, the latest season of the horror anthology series follows the 1892 murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, for which Borden was acquitted. This installment of “Monster” promises to be a bit more tongue-in-cheek than previous seasons. Not only is there a comedic tone to the season, but the show will also feature needle drops from punk and rock feminist icons like Kate Bush, Wet Leg and Lambrini Girls. Hot girl summer? Try axe girl fall. — KC

“The Traitors: New Blood” (NBC) — Sept. 17

Two cycles of “The Traitors” in one year? We’re not sure what we did to get this lucky but we’ll sure enjoy it. Yes, of course, there will be some shifts as Emmy-winning host Alan Cumming welcomes in 22 civilians on NBC rather than celebrities on Peacock, but there’s some plus sides to not knowing the contestants from their public persona — as well as for the players not to know one another. An unknown cast means players can obfuscate their perception and play down their skills, wielding their anonymity as another weapon. It also means that there’s a greater chance of the cast surprising the viewers as well. All else aside, we can’t wait for the treacherous game to start again, and for Cumming to flex his dramatic skills as he leads the cast through all the twists and turns the game has in store. — Loree Seitz

“MobLand” Season 2 (Paramount+) — Sept. 18

In between the first season of “MobLand” and the upcoming second season, there has been much press speculation about the behind-the-scenes drama that culminated in – depending on who you believe! – star Tom Hardy getting back on board after either quitting or getting fired briefly from the highly rated show. Whether or not a third season materializes remains to be seen. What we do know is that the show is back for Season 2 and we couldn’t be more thrilled. If you didn’t watch the first season, it concerns Hardy’s slippery fixer Harry Da Souza, who works for a prominent London mob family (led by Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren) but who is really looking out for #1 – himself. The first two episodes of the series, created by Ronan Bennett and overseen by Jez Butterworth (they wrote the entire season together), were directed by Guy Ritchie, which should tell you all you need to know about a series where every character talks in expletive-embroidered tuff guy speak and bursts of shocking violence can appear out of nowhere. We are already humming along to Fontaine D.C.’s “Starburster,” which serves as the series’ spot-on theme song. Time to get back to the family. — Drew Taylor

“JAŸ-Z in 8” (HBO) — Sept. 18

Jay-Z sits down with Rick Rubin for an intimate eight-part conversation in this new HBO Original documentary series. The collaborators, who worked together on the rapper’s hit “99 Problems,” will break down Jay-Z’s writing process of specific tracks and see the artist trace his creativity to his own childhood. “JAŸ-Z in 8” will be Rubin’s directorial documentary debut. The 30-year career retrospective will showcase an intimacy between the longtime friends and collaborators. The series will feature many of the rapper’s iconic tracks, including “99 Problems,” “Brooklyn’s Finest,” and “4:44.” The docuseries premieres on HBO and HBO Max Friday, Sept. 18. — TP

“Outlander: Blood of my Blood” Season 2 (Starz) — Sept. 18

If you’re still processing the end of “Outlander” after its series finale in May and wondering what it all means, you can cast those doubts aside as you plunge back into the romantic world of its spinoff “Outlander: Blood of my Blood.” The first installment introduced both Jamie and Claire’s parents with just enough familiarity to the characters we’ve come to love over the years, while giving enough intrigue to explore beyond the original series. “Blood of my Blood” Season 2 will pick up after the mess that was meant to be the wedding of Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) Malcolm Grant (Jhon Lumsden), which resulted in Brian (Jamie Roy) killing Malcom as he escaped with Ellen, though their perfect happily ever after is interrupted by signs of the Jacobite rebellion starting up. Likewise, Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry (Jeremy Irvine) — and their baby — have been separated once again. — LS

“Youth” (HBO) — Sept. 20

Sharon Horgan — our queen of messy black comedies about middle aged women — is back at it again with “Youth.” After the success of Apple TV’s “Bad Sisters” and Prime Video’s “Catastrophe,” HBO’s upcoming comedy follows a 50-year-old divorcee as she searches for sex and love while juggling caring for her ailing parents and parenting her adult son who’s stuck in arrested development. In addition to Horgan, the series stars Aran Murphy and Sharlene Whyte as well as Harriet Walter, Anne Reid and Freddie Fox in recurring roles. — KC

“Line of Fire” (NBC) — Sept. 21

Can good TV family dramas make a comeback? NBC is betting on it with “Line of Fire,” a new crime drama about a family of law enforcement agents juggling cases of the week with an intriguing central mystery. “9-1-1” alum Peter Krause leads the Hollingsworth family alongside Hope Davis (“Furious”) and Taylor Bloom (“American Horror Story”), Kat Cunning (“Trinkets”) and Tommy O’Brien (“Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”). The show was created by Joshua Safran, who created “Quantico” and ran “Gossip Girl” on the CW and its HBO Max reboot. Jenna Bush Hager also executive produces. “Brothers” (Apple TV) — Sept. 23

Could Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson be brothers? That’s the central question in a new Apple TV series that will see the former “True Detective” co-stars team up once again — this time portraying fictionalized versions of themselves. “Brothers” follows the pair as their life is thrown into chaos when Harrelson packs up his family after his daughter’s wedding falls apart and heads to McConaughey’s ranch for a getaway. Things quickly spiral after Ma Mac (Holland Taylor) lets a decades-old secret out of the bag: Harrelson and McConaughey may be brothers. While Harrelson and his family turn the ranch upside down, McConaughey also has to juggle another identity crisis — a potential run for Texas Governor. In addition to Harrelson, McConaughey and Taylor, the series’ cast includes Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan and Oona Yaffe. — LM

“Wonka’s The Golden Ticket” (Netflix) — Sept. 23

A group of lucky Golden Ticket winners will have the chance to compete for an undisclosed “lifetime supply of money” on Netflix’s upcoming competition series “Wonka’s The Golden Ticket.” The first trailer shows Oompa Loompas guiding a group of 12 adult contestants into a near-perfect replica of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. The competition series references several iconic moments from the 1971 film, including the lickable wallpaper and candy mushrooms. Contestants must navigate a series of Wonka’s games and temptations designed to challenge them physically, mentally and morally. In the end just one contestant will earn “Wonka’s life-changing prize.” “The Golden Ticket” received backlash online for using an AI recreation of the late Gene Wilder, who originated the role of Wonka, although his wife Karen B. Wilder and his estate gave their blessing. The competition series will air Sept. 23 on Netflix. — TP

“A Different World” (Netflix) — Sept. 24

The beloved ‘90s sitcom will get a next gen take of its own with Netflix’s “A Different World.” The continuation will see Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison reprise their roles as Whitley Gilbert and Dwayne Wayne, while Maleah Joi Moon stars as their youngest child, Deborah, who is about to embark on his first year of college at fictional HBCU Hillman College. There, she’ll be a number of the college’s best and brightest, introducing the next generation of Hillman, but there’s plenty of throwbacks in store for viewers of the original series. In addition to Guy and Hardison, returning cast members include Darryl M. Bell as Ron Johnson, Cree Summer as Freddie Brooks, Ajai Sanders as Gina Deveaux, Karen Malina White as Charmaine Brown, Charnele Brown as Dr. Kimberly Reese Boyer, Jenifer Lewis as Professor Davenport, Dawnn Lewis as Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor, Glynn Turman as Colonel Bradford Taylor and Jada Pinkett Smith as Lena James. — LS

“American Horror Story” Season 13 (FX and Hulu) — Sept. 24

As “American Horror Story” enters its most cursed season to date, everyone is coming back. Prepare to be shocked by Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Frances Conroy, Jamie Brewer, John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, Mat Fraser and Jessica Lange. Ever since Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk premiered “AHS” on FX in 2011, their ode to the humanity lurking in the unsettling and the depravity of the seemingly well adjusted has revolutionized television, helping cement horror on television and treating audiences to some of the most jaw-dropping scenes ever brought to the medium. And Season 13 promises to capitalize on that legacy with multiple fan favorites playing several parts in an homage to the show’s vast history.

“Everybody has it absolutely wrong because everyone thinks it’s a ‘Coven’ season. It’s not,” Murphy told TheWrap on the red carpet for “The Shards.” “It really is a tribute to the fans. That number 13 is infused a lot with the culture. It’s magical, it’s a superstitious number. I can’t believe we’ve gone 13 seasons and more. It’s not the final season. It’s an all star season.” — KC

“S.W.A.T. Exiles” (Starz) — Sept. 25

This Shemar Moore-led police franchise is only getting bigger. After being canceled and uncanceled twice at CBS, the flagship “S.W.A.T.” series ended after eight seasons. Sony Pictures Television saw the value in continuing its world even without its former network partner, so they produced an entire first season of a potential spinoff, and sold it to the highest bidder. In this one, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson is brought back from forced retirement to lead a new unit in the force with unpredictable results. It promises to be a combination of the show fans have known and loved for many seasons, along with new faces, adventures and network. “Exiles” leaves the franchise’s broadcast network constraints behind. Will its new home at Starz usher in a lucrative new era? Tune in and find out. — JAB

“East of Eden” (Netflix) — Oct. 1

Author John Steinbeck’s seminal 1952 novel “East of Eden” gets the miniseries treatment this year. Created by actress and screenwriter Zoe Kazan, the new Netflix series adapts Steinbeck’s enduring multigenerational story and places a greater emphasis on the perspective of its infamously divisive anti-hero, Cathy Ames (Florence Pugh). The series’ all-star ensemble cast includes Pugh, Mike Faist, Joseph Zada, Christopher Abbott, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton and Ciaran Hinds. Any adaptation of Steinbeck’s work with a cast of that caliber would be noteworthy, but Netflix’s “East of Eden” is made all the more so by Kazan’s involvement. Her grandfather, filmmaker Elia Kazan, directed the 1955 film adaptation of “East of Eden” starring James Dean and Jo Van Fleet. Her close proximity to the material makes Kazan’s decision to reinterpret “East of Eden” all the more fascinating — and exciting. — AW

“War” (HBO) — Oct. 1

The same day “East of Eden” arrives on Netflix, HBO is set to unveil “War,” its new legal drama from creator George Kay (“Lupin,” “Hijack”). Boasting a star-studded cast headlined by Dominic West and Sienna Miller, the anthology drama’s first season follows two prestigious London law firms as they battle in a case involving the contentious divorce between a tech entrepreneur and his movie star wife. A second season is already in the works starring Marisa Tomei and “Lanterns” star Kelly Macdonald, and TV viewers will get to see this fall whether HBO’s overwhelming confidence in “War” was justified or not. — AW

“Tip Toe” (Starz) — Oct. 2

Alan Cumming will have a busy fall. The Emmy-winning guest host returns to scripted television in “Tip Toe,” the BBC limited series from Russell T Davies (“Queer as Folk,” “Years and Years,” “It’s a Sin”) brought to the U.S. by Starz. Cumming stars as the owner of a gay bar who sees his relationship with a longtime neighbor shift directions toward violence as a result of anti-LGBTQ rhetoric online. David Morrissey (“The Walking Dead,” “The Deal”) co-headlines the commentary-filled series. — JAB

“NCIS: New York” (CBS) — Oct. 6

CBS’s longest-running franchise is heading to a new city — with a familiar face at its center. “NCIS: New York” brings back LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna to lead a new team of investigators in his hometown. He gets a new partner in Nick Schaeffer, played by Scott Caan (“Hawaii Five-0). It’s a fresh start for the crime procedural that could reinvent the wheel with a big-time dose of nostalgia for fans of Sam’s past times in Los Angeles before that spinoff ended in 2023. It joins the flagship “NCIS” and its alluring 1990s-set prequel series “NCIS: Origins” in the CBS lineup this fall, leaving its international spinoff based in Sydney to midseason. — JAB

“Carrie” (Prime Video) — Oct. 7

Most people asked the same question when Prime Video announced it was making a TV series adaptation of Stephen King’s first novel “Carrie” – why? The already short book has already had two adaptations, including the Brian De Palma classic starring Sissy Spacek that holds up perfectly. But Mike Flanagan’s modernized retelling proves to be well worth revisiting the core of the story. The writer/director/showrunner has already proven a deft hand when it comes to adapting King, but “Carrie” could be his new crowning achievement, all thanks to the performances by Summer H. Howell as the titular character and Flanagan mainstay Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White. — JB

“Below” (Netflix) — Oct. 8

You had me at “creature feature” series starring Josh Hartnett, “Below.” The new Netflix series stars the “Trap” and “Verity” actor as a small-town fisherman, Calvin, who has to fend off a mysterious sea creature terrorizing his Newfoundland town. “Stranger Things” standout Charlie Heaton also stars, as Hartnett’s son, as well as the always excellent Mackenzie Davis, who plays a visiting marine researcher who helps Calvin fight against whatever’s terrorizing the local waters. The six-episode thriller will get a special TIFF premiere before it debuts on Netflix on Oct. 8. — Haleigh Foutch

“Eternally Yours” (CBS) — Oct. 8

Falling in love with a vampire has long been romanticized, and being turned into a vampire by said love arguably even more so (shoutout to Bella Swan for that one, probably). But what happens when you go through the change, marry your vampire love, only to have that passionate romance eventually fizzle out? Enter: “Eternally Yours.” From the creators of “Ghosts,” the new sitcom centers on a vampire couple that’s been together for 500 years — played by “Upload” star Allegra Edwards (who is reliably hilarious) and Ed Weeks — and now lives in present-day Seattle with their coven. When they learn their daughter is dating a human, things get complicated fast. It arrives just in time for spooky season, but it’s definitely more fun-spooky than spooky spooky. — Andi Ortiz

“Cupertino” (CBS) — Oct. 8

CBS is getting back in the legal game with one of its most compelling shows yet. “The Good Wife” masterminds Robert and Michelle King strike gold once again with this procedural set in the world of the business magnates of the Internet age. Set in Silicon Valley, the series follows Mike Colter and Rachel Keller as two lawyers who, after getting fired from a tech startup, decide start a new firm to defend the hundreds of underdogs screwed over by these volatile corporations. The result is an insightful look into the underbellies of one of the most powerful industries in our world. Come for the “Good Wife” style quality of its weekly cases, stay for complex characters and astounding supporting performances by Ella Stiller and Busy Philipps. — JAB

“Avatar: Seven Havens” (Paramount+) — Oct. 9

The “Avatar: The Last Airbender” saga continues. “Avatar: Seven Havens,” which hails from original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzk, unlike the recent live-action Netflix series, Pavi, the successor and reincarnation of Korra and the new Avatar, as she and her long-lost twin sister Nisha. The titular seven havens are described as the central pillars of civilization, which must be saved and upheld. Judging by the first trailer, expect another exciting, deeply emotional experience in the tradition of the earlier series (and the excellent recent feature “Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender,” also on Paramount+). This new series truly marks the next chapter in the beloved franchise and honestly, we cannot wait. Between that teaser trailer, showcasing the jaw-dropping animation from French studio La Chouette Compagnie, and the fact that the original “Avatar” masterminds are finally back in charge, well, there’s a reason “Avatar: Seven Havens” is so breathlessly anticipated. We suspect it will also make a great entry-point for “Avatar” newbies too. — DT

“Helluva Boss” (Prime Video) — Oct. 14

Prime Video is continuing its relationship with creator and animator Vivienne Medrano, aka VivziePop. After releasing the first two seasons of Medrano’s animated series “Helluva Boss” in 2025, the third season of the show will be coming to Prime Video in two parts starting this fall. Set in the same fictional universe as “Hazbin Hotel,” the spinoff follows the misadventures of the employees of I.M.P., a company based in Hell that offers hitman services for those who are still alive. The first half of the new season will premiere in October with the second half following in 2027. “Hazbin Hotel” has been a bit of a cult hit for Prime Video, expanding the streamer’s occasional investment in adult animation with shows like “Invincible” and “Batman: Caped Crusader.” — KC

“The Lowdown” Season 2 (FX) — Oct. 14

Somehow, “The Lowdown” has returned. The first season of “Reservation Dogs” creator Sterlin Harjo’s ingenious mystery series, which stars Ethan Hawke as a “trusthsorian” (part private eye, part journalist, part struggling independent bookstore owner), was critically acclaimed but didn’t garner the Emmys attention or viewership numbers that it probably should have. Still, it is back for Season 2 and we could not be more thrilled. While the latest iteration of “The Lowdown” is still shrouded in mystery, we have been told that it involves a privatized prison and features a larger scope with a more complicated conspiracy, with one crew member liking the tone of this season to the Warren Beatty classic “The Parallax View.” And it’s unclear which of the colorful characters from Season 1 will make their way to Season 2, beyond Keith David, as a rival private investigator turned ally. More David/Hawke shenanigans while solving a socially conscious mystery? We can definitely get behind that. — DT

“VisionQuest” (Disney+) — Oct. 14

When “WandaVision” released in 2021, it marked the beginning of a new era for the MCU, one where the films and streaming series could work in concert. That period had its ups and downs, but now, with the future of Marvel TV unclear, “VisionQuest” closes the book on the trilogy that started nearly six years earlier (with “Agatha All Along” spinning out of “WandaVision” as a middle chapter). Paul Bettany returns in the series created by Terry Matalas as Vision (now the white-tinted Vision seen in many a Marvel comic) on a quest to better understand himself after his death, resurrection and transference of memories. James Spader reprises his role as Ultron for the first time since his first appearance in 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” while Ruaridh Mollica debuts as an older version of Wanda and Vision’s son, Tommy Maximoff/Speed. The series also features a slew of MCU robots and A.I. brought to life, including J.A.R.V.I.S. (James D’Arcy reprising his role), E.D.I.T.H. (Emily Hampshire), F.R.I.D.A.Y. (Orla Brady) and Jocasta (T’Nia Miller) in her MCU debut. Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer even play Iron Man’s robot arms, D.U.M.-E and U, for the real fans. — CL

“The Diplomat” Season 4 (Netflix) — Oct. 15

“The Diplomat” has always been great, but once it added “West Wing” alums Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford opposite powerhouses Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell, the Netflix political drama entered another echelon. Just watch Season 3 episode “Amagansett” and tell us we’re wrong. And we’ll get even more of it in Season 4, when both Janney and Whitford are bumped up to series regulars. The combination of struggling married couples will only complicate the political situation more, with the Season 3 finale leaving off with Kate (Russell) realizing that Hal went behind her back and concocted a plan with Allison Janney’s President Grace Penn to steal Poseidon missile, which Kate warns both the Brits and the Russians will consider an “act of war.” — LS

“Hollywood Arts” (Netflix) — Oct. 15

The 2000s and 2010s nostalgia continues with the upcoming “Victorious” sequel series “Hollywood Arts.” Daniella Monet returns as Trina Vega. Trina, now a struggling working actress, comes back to her high school Hollywood Arts as an unqualified substitute teacher. She butts heads with the new generation of performing arts students training at the school. The Netflix series will feature fresh faces as the eccentric arts students, but the series will also see the return of Yvette Nicole Brown as Principal Helen. Netflix has ordered 26 episodes for the first season. Watch the next generation make it shine in this spinoff series. — TP

“Crystal Lake” (Peacock) — Oct. 15

Few horror properties are as notoriously cursed as “Friday the 13th.” What started out as one of the most dependable scary season stables, with new installments released almost every year between 1980 and 1989, there has been little activity from Mrs. Voorhees, Jason or the doomed counselors at Camp Crystal Lake since 2009, when the iffy remake came out. Of course, it has been dragged down into a quagmire of legal complications and rights issues, with multiple entities (including original writer Victor Miller) vying for control. Beyond a Halloween Horror Nights and short film/hard cider commercial, things have been pretty quiet. Until now. “Crystal Lake” marks the biggest splash that the franchise has made in years, with an origin story worthy of the legendary horror staple. The first television series in the franchise since 1987’s underrated anthology show “Friday the 13th: The Series,” “Crystal Lake” follows the immediate aftermath of Jason’s drowning and the emotional and psychological freefall that besets Mrs. Voorhees (Linda Cardellini). Originally developed by “Hannibal” mastermind Bryan Fuller, it has since been reworked by “IT: Welcome to Derry” showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who added a sci-fi-ish subplot but maintained much of what made Fuller’s original pitch so exciting. Because the only thing scarier than a masked vigilante hunting nubile teens in the woods is the development process. — DT

“Newlyweds” (NBC) — Oct. 23

Married couples are saving sitcoms, or at least Téa Leoni and Tim Daly are over at NBC. The couple, who met while starring as husband and wife on “Madam Secretary,” will play newlyweds on screen just years after their own wedding. The sitcom follows newlyweds Tony (Daly) and Jeanie (Leoni) as Tony soon realizes that his life with Jeanie is not going to be the quiet, stay-at-home lifestyle he enjoys, but he also knows he’d rather change his ways than live without her,” per the official longline. Jamie Lee Curtis both executive produces and appears as a recurring guest star. — LS

“Nocturne” (Apple TV) — Oct. 30

Pencil a new Apple TV crime show into your fall schedule. Rowan Joffé, who previously created the crime drama “Tin Star,” is trying his hand at another detective story, this time adapting the novels “Lazarus” and “The Sandman” by Lars Kepler (a pseudonym for the husband-wife duo Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril). “Nocturne,” developed and showrun by John Hlavin. follows a soldier-turned-detective (played by Liev Schreiber) who moves from Philadelphia back to his small town home as its beset by a serial killer (Stephen Graham). The rest of its star-studded cast includes Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr. — CL

“Yaga” (Crave, AMC/AMC+) — October

“Heated Rivalry” fans won’t have to wait too long to see Hudson Williams in his next steamy roll, he’s back at Crave (airing on AMC/AMC+ in the States) this fall with “Yaga,” a new mystery series inspired by the legend of Baba Yaga. Based on the play by Kat Sandler, who adapted it for the screen, the series stars Williams as a young heir to a fishery who goes missing, “Schitt’s Creek star Noah Reid as the private investigator, “Letterkenny” star Clark Backo as a local detective and iconic “The Matrix” star Carrie-Anne Moss as a professor known for her affairs with younger men. The witchy mystery will get a splashy premiere at TIFF before it drops on AMC and AMC+ in October, just in time for peak spooky season. – HF

“The Gilded Age” Season 4 (HBO) — Nov. 1

Last time we checked in with Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) and company, the gang had gone through some big highs and serious lows. And now, we get to watch them pick up the pieces. George Russell (Morgan Spector) left behind his wife after a big soiree in a seeming point of no return for their powerhouse marriage. Peggy Scott (Denée Benton) also celebrated her engagement to the handsome Dr. Kirkland, while Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) and Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) false-started the next step in their own romance. Agnes (Christine Baranski) found a new way to come back up in society, while her son Oscar found an unexpected new ally. This Emmy-nominated drama series manages to only improve in quality and audience excitement with every season. We’ll see where this new chapter takes us next. — JAB

“The Greatest” (Prime Video) — Nov. 4

Produced by Michael B. Jordan, Prime Video’s “The Greatest” promises to explore the life and career of world-famous boxer Muhammad Ali. Newcomer Jaalen Best stars as Ali in the series, which comes from “Hand of God” creator Ben Watkins. Giovanni Ribisi, Omari Hardwick, Dana Gourrier, Michael Ealy and Reno Wilson star alongside Best, rounding out the cast of a limited series that has the unenviable task of trying to do justice to one of American culture’s most iconic and formative athletes and voices. We’ll see just how well its quality matches its ambition when “The Greatest” premieres Nov. 4. — AW

“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season 3 (Prime Video) — Nov. 11

The third season of Prime Video’s “Lord of the Rings” prequel series is looking to catapult Middle-earth even further into Sauron’s great war. The titular Rings of Power have been forged and the season leaps the story forward 5 years which places things in the midst of the Elves’ war against the Dark Lord as he toils away trying to craft the One Ring. While past seasons have earned flak from diehard “LOTR” lovers, the show has been improving with each entry as its story gains focus. The latest entry looks primed to be the best of the bunch. — JB

“The Body” (Netflix) — Nov. 11

No title on Netflix’s YA slate has been talked about more than “The Body,” which has been described as a raunchy teen psychodrama akin to “Jennifer’s Body.” Set in the 2000s, the series centers on a dance-team initiation gone wrong, which results in a group of badly behaved Catholic school girls begin having prophetic visions that set off mass hysteria in their town, per the official longline. If that wasn’t enough to draw you in, “The Body” also marks the acting debut for former “Bachelorette” and “The Traitors” breakout Gabby Windey, who steps in as the dance coach alongside a cast of breakout stars. — LS

“The Good Daughter” (Peacock) — Nov. 12

Another twisty thriller series is headed to Peacock in “The Good Daughter,” starring Meghann Fahy and Rose Byrne as Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, who have spent the last 20 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence. Their worst fears are enlivened when another attack hits their small town, though this time Charlotte, who has followed in her dad’s steps to become a lawyer, is the first on the scene, and follows the case through to the end. Additional series regulars include Brendan Gleeson, Olivia Williams, Harper Steele, Michael Dorman, Audrey Grace Marshall and Drew Cheek. — LS

“12 12 12” (Apple TV) — Nov 13

The best crimes come in twelves. At least, they do in Apple TV’s new cat-and-mouse thriller “12 12 12.” The series stars Anthony Mackie as an FBI agent and Jamie Dornan as a career criminal on opposite sides of a Zurich bank robbery, with each episode detailing the 12 months of planning, 12 hours of executing and 12 days after the central crime. Jack Kesy, Agathe Rousselle, Sallie Harmsen, José Garcia and Kali Reis join the duo in the eight-episode series from Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble. If only there were four more episodes. — CL

“The Altruists” (Netflix) — Nov. 19

One of the biggest cryptocurrency scandals of recent years gets the limited series treatment this November in Netflix’s “The Altruists.” Created by Oscar-winning screenwriter Graham Moore (“The Imitation Game”), the series explores the infamous collapse of high-profile cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Anthony Boyle stars as FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, while Julia Garner stars opposite him as Bankman-Fried’s girlfriend and business partner, Caroline Ellison. Like “The Dropout” and “WeCrashed” before it, “The Altruists” promises to offer some insight not just into one of America’s most confounding contemporary financial scandals but also, potentially, the current state of American society-at-large. One of the dark horse candidates for this fall’s best new drama, you might want to buy into “The Altruists” now. — AW

“Yellowjackets” Season 4 (Paramount+) — Nov. 20

“Yellowjackets” has been a wild ride from Episode 1. While the series has fallen from the heights of its chilling, near-perfect first season, and Season 3 seemingly revealed how the girls finally get rescued, the final season has two major mysteries left to resolve: 1) how the heck did these girls reintegrate into society after all that, and what horrors will their belief in “the Wilderness” bring to their ultimate present-day ending? Will Shauna get her comeuppance? What will Tai’s fractured self evolve into after that shocking Season 3 finale loss? Can Misty’s singular disposition help her survive it all, in the end? The Showtime-turned-Paramount+ original introduced some of the most compelling, unpredictable, unapologetically vile women in television, and while it may have killed a surprising amount of them off already, we absolutely need to know what happens to the rest. — HF

“Dig” (Peacock) — Nov. 23

Amy Poehler has reunited with “Parks and Rec” creator Mike Schur for “Dig,” which brings the next iteration of a workplace comedy to an archeological site. Based on Kate Myers’ “Excavations,” “Dig” follows a dedicated group of archaeologists and less-dedicated college students who spend their summer working at a dig site in Greece, who are head on the adventure of a lifetime after discovering a rare artifact. The comedy touts an impressive cast alongside Poehler, including Hugh Laurie, Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas and Fina Strazza, with Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing and Bonita Friedericy also on the lineup as guest cast. — LS

“Blade Runner 2099” (Prime Video) — Nov. 25

The fact that there hasn’t been a Blade Runner TV series until now is a bit mind-boggling. The good news is that the Prime Video series is shaping up to be a banger. Hunter Schafer and Michelle Yeoh lead the series that (obviously) takes place 50 years after the last film. Los Angeles is reeling after the most recent war between humans and replicants and now the replicants are calling the shots. If you’re craving rain-soaked neon, existential crises, and a healthy dose of high sci-fi to round out your Thanksgiving weekend than this limited series is going to be your everything. — JB

“The Hunting Wives” Season 2 (Netflix) — Nov. 26

The chaos that is “The Hunting Wives” will hit on Thanksgiving, but this might not be the most family-friendly watch. After the dramatic Season 1 finale, Sophie (Brittany Snow) and Margo (Malin Akerman) are at odds, but we’re guessing they’ll fight through murder to find their way back together, or at least for enough time to sneak away for a hookup. The series will also see new faces joining the cast in John Stamos, Dale Dickey, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula and Alex FitzAlan. — LS

“Phony” (Hulu) — Fall

Connie Britton and Sam Nivola will lead this upcoming mystery series at Hulu. “Phony” will follow Sonny (Nivola), a teenager who wakes up in the hospital after a car accident only to discover that his single mother appears to have been replaced by an impostor. Britton stars as Sonny’s mother and the principal of his high school. The studio describes Sonny to be the “most beloved student at his high school,” but he is only really understood by his mother Ellen (Britton). The pilot of the coming-of-age mystery series was written, directed and edited by Nick Paley, who is best known for his work on “Marcel the Shell With Shoes On” and Broadway musicals “Beetlejuice the Musical” and “Gutenberg!” — TP

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County” (Hulu) — Fall

The headline-making “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” franchise will move to Orange County for a new franchise this fall. Internet personalities Aspyn Ovard and Bobbi Althoff will be among the group of young mothers leading the series. Ovard, who has been a YouTube creator for over a decade, recently entered the public eye amid her divorce with Parker Ferris, and has since been exploring her sexuality. Althoff made waves for her dry wit in her viral podcast interview with Drake. In addition to Ovard and Althoff, the series also stars Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, Mayci Neeley’s sister McCall DaPron, Chandler Higginson, Ashleigh Pease and Madison Bontempo. This series comes soon after a truncated season release of the flagship series coming in September. The Utah Mormon wives will air a shorter season following the drama around Taylor Frankie Paul’s scrapped “Bachelorette” season. “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County” will come to Hulu this fall. — TP
