‘South Park’ Celebrates Emmy Win by Taking a Shot at Donald Trump

The South Park team found a very South Park-style way to celebrate its latest Emmy victory — by taking another hilarious jab at Donald Trump.

The long-running animated series took home the award for Outstanding Animated Program, marking its first win in the category since 2013. Rather than simply celebrating the achievement, however, the show’s official social media account used the moment to poke fun at the former president.

Following the victory, the official South Park X account congratulated creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with the entire production team, on their Emmy win.

The accompanying graphic was considerably more provocative.

The image featured a cartoon version of Trump with his underwear around his ankles while holding an Emmy statue. Above the image was the message: “You finally got your Emmy.”

The joke references Trump’s long-running absence from the Emmy winners’ list while South Park has continued to rack up recognition throughout its run.

‘South Park’ Keeps Politics in Its Crosshairs

Political satire has been a major part of South Park’s identity for decades, and Trump has frequently been a target of the show’s irreverent humor.

The series has built its reputation on making fun of politicians, celebrities and pop-culture figures without showing much restraint. Its willingness to tackle controversial subjects has become one of the defining characteristics of the show.

The Emmy celebration was therefore very much in keeping with the program’s personality.

For fans, the combination of a major television award and a politically charged joke offered a fitting celebration for a series that has never been afraid to make its opinions — or its jokes — known.

A Big Night for ‘South Park’

The Emmy victory also represents another milestone for Parker, Stone and the South Park team.

After years of pushing boundaries with its distinctive animation style and provocative comedy, the series remains one of television’s most recognizable animated programs.

And apparently, even an Emmy win couldn’t stop the creators from having a little fun at Trump’s expense.

For South Park, that’s practically tradition.
