What it’s about
Arriving as part of his EP Still In Charge, this track offers another slice of Daniel Benson's musical journey under the T.Y.E. and EMPIRE imprint. The Nigerian singer-songwriter, formerly known as Buju, has built a solid reputation for delivering soulful Afro-fusion tunes, and this African music release sits firmly within that lane. Going by the playful, rhythmic ring of the title Shamaya, the two-minute-and-forty-one-second cut hints at a lively mood shaped by his signature melodic instincts. It gives listeners a concise taste of where the artist is heading on this project.
