Five Super Eagles players are preparing for an intense weekend of football across England, Spain and Italy as they face top-ranked sides and league leaders, according to Punch.
In the English Premier League, defender Semi Ajayi will feature as Hull City travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on table-toppers Arsenal on Saturday at 4pm Nigerian time. Hull sit 11th in the table and are winless in their last eight games in all competitions, while Arsenal boast a 100 per cent home record this campaign with 24 points from nine matches. Ajayi played the entire 90 minutes and made six clearances during Hull's 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town last weekend.
Later on Saturday at 5:30pm Nigerian time, Ola Aina's Nottingham Forest will welcome Manchester City to the City Ground. Forest are currently 19th in the standings with just six points from nine games, having registered six goals so far. Aina, who was replaced at the break during a 2-0 loss to Brentford last weekend, has featured only once in Forest’s previous three league outings.
In the Spanish La Liga, Umar Sadiq and Valencia take on Real Madrid at the Mestalla on Saturday night. Valencia sit 19th with nine points from 11 matches, while Madrid arrive on the back of seven straight wins across all competitions. Sadiq recently returned from a two-month injury layoff to score the winning goal after coming off the bench against Elche, securing his second league strike of the season.
The La Liga action continues on Sunday night with a top-of-the-table clash as Ademola Lookman's Atletico Madrid host leaders Barcelona at the Metropolitano. Second-placed Atletico sit two points behind Barcelona and have won seven straight league fixtures, with Lookman pushing for a spot in Diego Simeone's forward line.
Meanwhile, in Italy, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru will be in action for Serie A leaders Lazio as they visit Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday at 12:30pm Nigerian time. Lazio lead the league with 28 points having won their last six encounters, while eighth-placed Napoli will attempt to halt a two-match losing run.
