Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has joined forces with social media giant Facebook to showcase Nigerian storytelling ahead of the release of her upcoming movie, The Four: No One Fights Alone.
The partnership is designed to back the title’s world premiere in London as well as its homecoming screening in Lagos, according to Vanguard. Both events will feature a special creator-hosted space to capture digital material, highlighting how creative talents use the platform to reach younger audiences across borders.
Speaking on the initiative, Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, noted that the project celebrates individuals shaping contemporary culture. He pointed out that the platform continues to help storytellers build strong fan bases, engage global audiences, and earn revenue from original productions.
Akindele expressed excitement over the tie-up, noting that African cinema has compelling narratives to share across the world. In posts shared on her social media pages, the filmmaker stated that the collaboration will grant audiences direct access to premiere looks, preparations, and exclusive behind-the-scenes moments. Fans can follow Meta Africa, Fanntv, and Akindele’s official pages for real-time updates.
The Four: No One Fights Alone is set for a worldwide cinema debut on December 11, distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. The plot explores themes of friendship, motherhood, and resilience, tracing the journey of a character named Esosa and three women striving to protect a young man's future across rural Odu and urban settings.
Produced under the Funke Akindele Network banner, the project arrives as her latest cinema venture following the 2025 release Behind the Scenes. The star-studded cast features Richard Mofe-Damijo, Chioma Akpotha, Bisola Aiyeola, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Uzor Arukwe, and Ali Nuhu. The production also includes appearances from music stars Waje and Shoday, alongside actors Ronke Oshodi Oke, Antar Laniyan, and Wunmi Toriola.
