A new Nollywood musical drama titled ‘Which Way’ has debuted at the Africa International Film Festival in Lagos, aiming to break the silence surrounding domestic violence and unresolved emotional hurt within households.

The film's producer, Jumafor Ajogwu, explained in a statement shared with the News Agency of Nigeria that the project was designed to put critical issues like childhood trauma and domestic abuse at the forefront of public discussion. Ajogwu, who heads the United Kingdom-based outfit Bold Pictures, noted that the story challenges the long-standing habit of hiding family struggles from the public eye.

Directed by Jide Okeke, the production follows the life of a Lagos mechanic named Ladi. His troubled past heavily influences how he treats his wife, Beatrice, and their adolescent daughter, Feyi, illustrating how emotional pain and aggression pass down through family ties.

Ajogwu noted that many people grew up under strict instructions to keep household issues secret. He stressed that the drama questions the real damage caused by such silence, particularly to young children who carry the emotional burden into adulthood.

The premiere drew officials from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency alongside delegates from the United Nations Population Fund. To give viewers practical help, the production team left cards on event seats bearing the agency’s contact information, including its toll-free helpline and WhatsApp line.

Ajogwu added that the movie arrives just before the worldwide 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, which is set to take place between November 25 and December 10.

The cast features Floyd Igbo, Chidinma Nebo, Mariam Kayode, and Onome Akpotebu in central roles. Other well-known actors appearing in the production include Stan Nze, Chimezie Imo, Ijeoma Grace Agu, and Yemi Blaq.

The feature film was produced by Bold Pictures in collaboration with Afribold Pictures Network and Future 6 Media.
