Senator Ned Nwoko has called on the public, online commentators, and bloggers to allow his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, the needed privacy to recover from her health issues.
The Delta North lawmaker made the appeal in a statement shared on his Instagram page, according to a report by The Whistler Newspaper. Nwoko explained that his request was not just for the actress but also for the sake of their two sons, noting that the children need to see their mother supported and given the opportunity to heal.
Nwoko addressed the wave of online rumours surrounding the movie star, explicitly condemning fabricated death announcements and misleading articles about her medical status. He stated that the hurtful publications have caused deep emotional distress to Daniels, as she frequently comes across them online.
Issuing a stern warning, the senator stressed that deliberate misinformation targeting her health and life will no longer be overlooked. He announced that his team has started documenting offending posts and threatened that anyone using anonymous social media profiles to exploit her condition for web traffic will be prosecuted through appropriate legal channels.
The public appeal follows Daniels' 25th birthday in October, during which she released a video showing herself in a wheelchair. In that broadcast, she revealed she was battling mobility problems that caused severe pain and left her unable to walk at times, adding that the condition escalated following her 2026 Children's Day event. Nwoko said the footage offered everyone a glimpse into what she has been enduring, insisting that the moment calls for compassion rather than harsh judgment.
The couple, who held their traditional wedding ceremony in May 2019, experienced an open falling out in October 2025. The rift involved public accusations between both sides, with Daniels raising claims of domestic abuse while Nwoko alleged substance abuse, leading to a long public exchange over disputed medical and drug tests.
Despite their ongoing marital crisis, Nwoko stated that his concern for the actress's well-being has never changed. However, the lawmaker did not indicate any marital reconciliation in his public message.
