The Nigeria Premier Football League has altered the schedule for the upcoming Matchday 12 fixture between Kun Khalifat and Kano Pillars. The encounter, originally slated to begin at 6pm on Sunday, November 8, will now kick off at 4pm at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, according to Football in Nigeria.
The league body provided no official explanation for moving the start time two hours earlier. The adjustment aligns the contest with several other top-flight fixtures taking place across the country on the same afternoon.
Kun Khalifat head into the home fixture looking to rebound from a disappointing Matchday 11 result. The club suffered a narrow 1-0 away defeat to Enyimba in Aba, where Tobi Iyanda netted the decisive goal in the 15th minute.
Kano Pillars, on the other hand, travel south in steady form. The four-time Nigerian league champions are currently unbeaten across their last three matches, a stretch that includes a 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United on Matchday 11.
The two sides previously crossed paths in Kano on December 7, 2025, where Pillars secured a 2-1 win. Rabiu Ali delivered two goals on that occasion, while Ebuka Nwokorie scored from the penalty spot for Kun Khalifat. Behind the scenes, Kun Khalifat also brought in Nwabuwah as team coordinator for the 2026/27 campaign to help strengthen the setup.
Nine league matches are scheduled for this weekend. Action begins on Saturday, November 7, when Rivers United host Sporting Lagos at 4pm, following a suspended fine given to Rivers United over a Matchday 11 broadcast disagreement.
The remaining games take place on Sunday, November 8, featuring matchups such as Rangers against Kwara United, Enyimba against Ranchers Bees, and Ikorodu City facing Inter Lagos alongside the showdown in Owerri.
