The Lagos State Police Command has busted a suspected high-tech indoor cannabis plantation situated inside a residential building in the Apapa area of the state. During the operation, officers arrested two men living on the premises, including a 49-year-old Polish citizen.
Command spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi announced the bust in a statement released on Tuesday, according to Punch. She revealed that operatives acted on credible intelligence to search the property around 8:15 am on Monday, November 2, 2026.
The suspects taken into custody were identified as Polish national Thomas Razvickas, 49, and Nigerian citizen James Chisome, 36. Both individuals were residing inside the building where the farming system was set up.
Upon searching the home, officers discovered a sophisticated indoor setup equipped to cultivate, harvest, and process plants suspected to be cannabis. The police spokesperson confirmed that the suspects were being held in custody, where they admitted to the acts in confessional statements and are assisting detectives with further details.
The Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, personally visited the Apapa residence to examine the operation and receive direct briefings from the team. He praised the officers for their intelligence-led intervention and reiterated that the command will continue to dismantle illegal drug operations across the metropolis.
Fatai also commended members of the public for providing timely tip-offs that led to the discovery. He urged residents across Lagos communities to maintain close cooperation with the police by reporting suspicious activities around their neighbourhoods.
