Key chieftains and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State have agreed to set aside their differences and work as a single team ahead of the 2027 general elections. The decision was reached during a private gathering held at the party secretariat located in Oke-Ado, Ibadan South West Local Government Area.

The meeting was convened by former Senate Leader Teslim Folarin, who serves as the State Coordinator for the Tinubu/Shettima 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, according to Punch. The primary aim was to resolve internal grievances following party primaries and build a solid front to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, as well as ensure the victory of the state’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, and other party candidates.

A party insider disclosed that the gathering put an end to rumors regarding disunity in the chapter. The source noted that former Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu attended in person, dismissing claims that he had distanced himself from the state chapter. The insider maintained that the party will head into the upcoming polls without cracks in its fold.

Oyo State APC Publicity Secretary, Adewale Sadare, confirmed the development via telephone. He stated that party leaders showed broad enthusiasm for uniting their ranks and pushing for victory across all elective posts. Sadare explained that the members agreed to take reconciliation moves directly to the grassroots to ensure every party faithful is brought along.

Several notable politicians were present at the session, including former deputy governors Rauf Olaniyan and Taofeek Arapaja, state chairman Moses Adeyemo, and former First Lady Kemi Alao-Akala. Other prominent attendees included Sunday Dare, who serves as Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Communication, Senators Ayo Adeseun and Femi Lanlehin, former minister Toaheed Adedoja, and former Senate Chief Whip Hosea Agboola.

Sadare highlighted that the state chapter is determined to deliver the highest southern vote tally for President Tinubu during the elections slated for early 2027, adding that stakeholders will continue addressing all unresolved concerns to guarantee maximum success at the ballot box.
