Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has come under intense scrutiny online following her recent statements regarding a diss track aimed at music superstar Davido by online critic VeryDarkMan, according to GhanaWeb.
Her intervention in the ongoing dispute between the activist and the Afrobeats singer quickly sparked debate across social platforms. Fans and social media observers have expressed mixed reactions, with many calling out the actress for lending her voice to the hostility directed at the award-winning musician.
The drama comes at an active time for Davido, who has remained one of the country's most prominent musical exports. The singer, who leads Davido Music Worldwide and works with Columbia, has delivered several top-charting records over the years, spanning hits like "Aye" to projects like his recent album "Oriadé".
Davido recently released his collaborative single "Offa Me" featuring American R&B singer Victoria Monét in October 2026. Over the course of his career, the performer has built an extensive catalog featuring global names such as Chris Brown, Young Thug, and Angélique Kidjo.
Neither the actress nor Davido's camp has formally issued a detailed follow-up regarding the social media outrage following her comments on the record.
