Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that he would demand $500,000 per performance if he ever embarks on a worldwide joint tour with long-time rival Wizkid. The singer stated that he has no doubt such a roadshow would pack concert halls across the globe, according to QED.NG.
Davido shared his thoughts during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he reflected on his relationship with the Starboy boss and the prospect of taking their craft on the road. While he showed complete faith in ticket sales, he voiced strong doubts about whether a collaborative single between the two heavyweights would enjoy similar commercial success.
To explain his point, Davido referenced an earlier partnership between two Nigerian legends, D’banj and 2Baba, pointing out that uniting two giants does not instantly translate into a smash hit. He stated: "If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop. If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out."
The music star also disclosed that he and Wizkid have not recorded music together in roughly ten years. He clarified that this drought was never because they could not make good music together, but rather because neither artiste was in the proper mental space to connect in the studio.
Reflecting on their long-running public rivalry, Davido highlighted the value of growth and emotional maturity. He noted that moving past old feuds requires strength, explaining: "I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that."
The two artistes have dominated the contemporary African music scene for over a decade. Davido, who recently delivered projects like his 2026 album "Oriadé" and the 2023 hit project "Timeless", has shared several stages with Wizkid in past years, despite recurring online clashes. Wizkid previously teased a joint tour after his "More Love, Less Ego" run in 2023, though the proposed venture never happened.
