Dangote Industries Limited has maintained its place as Nigeria's leading corporate brand for the ninth consecutive year. The conglomerate achieved a record Brand Strength Measurement Index score of 89.7, according to a report by THISDAYLIVE.

The findings from the 2026 Top 50 Brands Nigeria evaluation show a major shift in the country's corporate landscape. Local companies now hold 27 of the top 50 spots, overtaking multinational corporations for the first time in the history of the rankings. Seven of the top ten corporate names on the list are Nigerian-owned businesses.

In the overall rankings, MTN Nigeria finished second with a score of 81.8, while Airtel Nigeria took third place with 76.3. Telecommunications operator Globacom came in fourth with 76.1, and Access Bank completed the top five with 74.7. Other Nigerian establishments inside the top ten include Zenith Bank, BUA Group, First Bank of Nigeria, and United Bank for Africa.

Dangote stood out across consumer perception categories, emerging as the country's most trusted corporate name. The firm secured 30.3 percent of spontaneous first mentions from survey participants and 22.7 percent in the category of brands consumers cannot do without. In the oil and gas category, the business placed second with 18.2 percent of the mentions.

The evaluation highlighted the conglomerate's expanding industrial base, which covers petroleum refining, cement production, fertilizer, sugar, and flour, as well as philanthropic work through the Aliko Dangote Foundation. Its multi-billion dollar petroleum refinery played an important part in the assessment of its national impact.

Taiwo Oluboyede, Chief Executive Officer of Top 50 Brands Nigeria, praised the company for its sustained performance at the summit of the table. He pointed out that the findings show solid consumer trust and a historic turning point for home-grown commercial enterprises.

Reacting to the outcome, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote Industries, stated that the milestone reflects the dedication and vision of company founder Aliko Dangote toward the industrial growth of Africa.
