Ghanaian singer-songwriter Lasmid has returned with a new single titled "Mmrɛ (Time)," linking up once again with N.E Records. The track was officially released on November 6, 2026, under N.E Records and Dvpper Music, according to Voxtrendy.
Produced by hitmaker M.O.G Beatz, the song runs for two minutes and twenty-nine seconds. It merges classic Ghanaian highlife guitar melodies with crisp Afrobeats drums, giving Lasmid room to showcase his vocal delivery in Twi. His delivery on the record also mirrors the well-known storytelling flow of veteran Ghanaian music icon Okomfo Kwadee.
The title "Mmrɛ" translates directly to "Time" in Twi, anchoring the core theme of enduring through hardship and waiting for one's season. In the lyrics, the singer touches on long nights of hard work, dodging trouble on the streets, and maintaining a steady focus on building wealth. During the chorus, Lasmid points to Ghanaian businessman Nana Kwame Bediako, widely known as Cheddar, as an example of financial triumph that comes from dedication rather than quick shortcuts.
The release marks another chapter in Lasmid's steady run of form. Before this arrival, he joined hands with N.E Records in August 2026 on the collaborative effort "Liquor Store." The singer has built a strong catalogue across the continent with memorable singles such as "Puul," "No Issues," and "Atele."
In 2025, Lasmid delivered his project "Sweet Songs 4 You" alongside a live performance edition, working under Dapper Music and Entertainment. His career has also seen him collaborate with well-known names such as King Promise and Nigerian rapper LADIPOE.
With "Mmrɛ (Time)," Lasmid continues to expand his sound by bridging traditional Ghanaian rhythms with modern pop sensibilities, offering listeners an encouraging reminder that patience and effort eventually pay off.
