Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has opened up about his turbulent time at Stamford Bridge, describing the experience as both the best and hardest period of his life.
According to NotjustOk, the tactician spoke out against the intense media coverage that targeted him during his short stay in London. Rosenior stated that the scrutiny went beyond his results on the pitch and turned into personal mockery.
The manager pointed directly to instances where observers laughed at his touchline guidance, clothing choices, and speech. He highlighted a specific moment when he gave written instructions on a scrap of paper to Alejandro Garnacho after Chelsea went down to 10 men during a match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Rosenior rejected the idea that he should be treated lightly, questioning rigid stereotypes about how a top-flight manager ought to present himself. "I am not a joke!" he stated, adding that while any other team would appreciate certain runs of form, Chelsea operated under different expectations.
The coach also suggested that factors outside the pitch contributed to his dismissal, promising that the complete picture of what happened behind the scenes would come to light later. He noted that he would not be discussing the matter again anytime soon.
Rosenior's reign at the London club lasted only 106 days before the board decided to sack him on April 22, 2026. Across 23 matches in all competitions, he secured 11 victories, suffered 10 defeats, and drew two games.
