President Bola Tinubu has observed the Umrah pilgrimage in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he dedicated his worship to seeking divine intervention for Nigeria's peace and stability.
During the religious rites on Friday morning, the Nigerian leader completed the circumambulation of the Holy Ka’abah at Masjid al-Haram, thanking God for His mercies upon the country and asking for guidance to lead the nation effectively.
Speaking to journalists after concluding the prayers, according to THISDAYLIVE, Tinubu described the exercise as deeply meaningful for his service to the nation. He noted that the visit signified dedication to the welfare of the citizens and total submission to the will of Allah.
The president used the platform to plead for an end to insecurity across the country. He asked for divine wisdom for Nigeria's leadership, stronger brotherhood among citizens, and steady advancement in social and economic areas. He maintained that the diversity of the nation should serve as a pillar of unity rather than a dividing line.
Several prominent state and federal officials joined the president during the spiritual exercise. Among those on his entourage were Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State, and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
Tinubu landed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Thursday night ahead of the pilgrimage. He was welcomed upon arrival by the Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, alongside Ahmad bin Thafir, the Head of Royal Protocol in Saudi Arabia.
The president is scheduled to return to Nigeria next week after concluding his visit and religious obligations in the Kingdom.
