President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to set aside differences and live peacefully with one another. He urged the public to see the nation's ethnic and cultural background as an asset for economic progress.

The Nigerian leader made the remarks on Sunday while hosting members of his delegation to a dinner in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, according to Channels Television. In an official statement, the presidency noted that the gathering offered a platform to seek divine intervention for the nation.

Tinubu prayed for Almighty Allah to bless the country and guide its leadership through current realities. He stated that the nation's diverse talents and abundant natural wealth provide a solid bedrock to build inclusive development. He also asked for guidance and safety for citizens living within the borders and across the diaspora.

Speaking on behalf of state leaders, Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, lauded the president's drive. AbdulRazaq said state governors would keep praying that God grants the president wisdom, boldness, and courage to make sound policies for national advancement.

Also addressing the gathering, BUA Group Chairman Abdulsamad Rabiu reaffirmed the backing of the private sector. Rabiu described Tinubu as deeply committed to the growth of the nation, noting that the delegation had met multiple times since arriving in the holy city to deliberate and pray.

Attorney-General of the Federation Lateef Fagbemi offered supplications for fairness and sound administration, asking for strength to help the federal government dispense justice to every citizen without prejudice.

The dinner featured several prominent political and business figures. Among the governors in attendance were Uba Sani of Kaduna, Babagana Zulum of Borno, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Mohammed Namadi of Jigawa, and Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto.

Other key figures present at the event included National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ali Pate, presidential aide Ibrahim Masari, and Oando Chief Executive Wale Tinubu.
