Chelsea forward Cole Palmer has hit a major personal landmark after scoring his 50th Premier League goal for the club. The England international reached the milestone during his side's recent fixture against Manchester United, according to We Ain't Got No History.
Palmer tucked away a penalty against United to complete the tally in just 105 league outings for the Blues. That achievement makes him the third-fastest Chelsea player in history to score 50 goals in the Premier League.
Only two former strikers reached the mark in fewer matches. Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink leads the list after scoring his 50th goal in 84 games, while Diego Costa achieved the feat in 85 appearances.
Palmer's record sees him move ahead of club legend Didier Drogba, who required 106 games to reach 50 league goals. Drogba, widely celebrated for his heroics in major finals, had taken slightly longer to find his most lethal scoring form at Stamford Bridge.
With this latest strike, Palmer became the eighth footballer to record 50 Premier League goals in Chelsea colours. He joins a decorated list that includes Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Hasselbaink, and Costa. He also ranks as the 28th player to hit 50 domestic league goals across the entire history of the club.
Across all competitions, Palmer has now found the net 59 times for Chelsea. That total places him 30th on the club’s all-time scoring charts, putting him level with both Costa and former France striker Nicolas Anelka.
