The Jos International Stadium located along Zaria Road in Plateau State has undergone a visible upgrade, receiving its first major facelift in nearly four decades.
Workers applied a fresh coat of paint across the sports complex, marking the first time the facility has received such refurbishment work in 38 years, according to Premium Times Nigeria.
The maintenance and cosmetic overhaul of the Plateau State sporting facility was carried out ahead of an upcoming political rally organized by the All Progressives Congress.
The stadium, located in the Tin City, serves as a prominent sporting venue in central Nigeria and is the home ground for top-tier domestic football activities, including matches for local Nigeria Premier Football League side Plateau United. Sports facilities across the country often witness rapid revamps when chosen to host large-scale non-sporting events such as political rallies, civic receptions, and regional conventions.
Supporters and football followers in Plateau State often look forward to these upgrades, as state-managed arenas sometimes face long periods without routine repainting and structural touch-ups. With the latest work completed, the arena presents a fresh look to visitors arriving for the political gathering and regular matchday fans.
