President Bola Tinubu is set to leave Abuja on Thursday for Saudi Arabia to take part in the Umrah pilgrimage. The lesser Hajj offers a time for religious devotion, spiritual reflection, and supplication.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the trip will take the president to the holy city of Makkah, according to The Trumpet. While in the kingdom, Tinubu will perform religious rituals and seek divine support for the nation.
The presidency noted that the visit serves as an opportunity for the Nigerian leader to pray for peace, stability, unity, and progress across the country. He is expected to seek guidance and blessings for Nigeria during his stay in the holy land.
Prior to his flight out of the country, Tinubu will attend an official engagement in the federal capital. He will commission newly acquired operational equipment for the Nigerian Air Force.
The military unveiling ceremony will be held at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The new assets are meant to boost the ongoing operations of the armed forces.
Tinubu will wrap up his spiritual assignment in Makkah over the coming days. The presidency stated that he is scheduled to return to Nigeria sometime next week.
