Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri is celebrating her eighth wedding anniversary with her husband, according to a report by Kemi Filani. The screen star marked the milestone by sharing pictures of herself online, alongside a note saying that life together only gets better.
Kadiri, who shares two children with her partner, has largely kept his identity out of the public spotlight since their quiet marriage in 2018. She confirmed her union to the public in 2019 by displaying her wedding ring and updating her Instagram profile with her husband's surname, Ezerika.
Addressing persistent questions about why her partner rarely appears online, Kadiri stated in an interview with Diary of a Naija Girl that she does not hide him. She explained that they regularly attend events together and that she does post him, noting that members of the public simply do not recognise his face. During the chat, she revealed that she initially blocked him two days after they met, despite feeling that God spoke to her about him, adding that taking the relationship public strengthened her commitment.
The mother of two also looked back on her past during the conversation, mentioning that she turned down several marriage proposals when she was younger. In a separate interview in May with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Kadiri shared how she tackled online critics who once mocked the size of her engagement ring, admitting she visited their personal pages individually to confront them.
Her choice to maintain boundaries around her domestic life has previously drawn claims from controversial commentator Kemi Olunloyo, who alleged that the actress is a second wife competing with an existing partner. Kadiri, however, has consistently spoken positively about her home, previously writing during their fifth anniversary that her peace and happiness stem directly from her marriage.
