Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has addressed his relationship with Peter Obi, making it clear that their political differences have not ended their personal friendship, according to the Nigerian Bulletin.
Soludo explained that having different views on politics does not stop individuals from relating cordially on a personal level. He maintained that despite diverging paths in the political arena, mutual respect and friendship between him and Obi remain intact.
Both men are leading figures from Anambra State who have played significant roles in Nigerian governance. Soludo currently serves as the governor of the state under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, while Obi previously served two terms as Anambra governor before running as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election.
Over the years, public discussions have often highlighted perceived friction between the two leaders, especially during critical election seasons when their political alignments clashed. However, Soludo's comments indicate that private ties do not have to be sacrificed on the altar of partisan disagreements.
Neither leader has signaled any change in their respective party affiliations or political directions following the remarks.
