The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has called on news organisations across Nigeria to ensure fair and balanced coverage for all political platforms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appeal, reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, emphasizes the need for media professionals to provide equal visibility to every participating party. The SDP flagbearer highlighted that open access to public platforms remains essential for a competitive and transparent electoral environment.
Balanced reportage helps voters gain clear information on the policy plans, candidates, and manifestos presented by the different registered parties. Equal space across print, broadcast, and digital platforms ensures that voters can make informed decisions when casting their ballots nationwide.
In a related political development on the same day, an internal group within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced its own preparations for the forthcoming electoral cycle.
A faction of the ADC publicly presented its campaign council and formally announced its presidential candidate for the 2027 contest. Political groups across the country continue to organize their internal party structures and election machinery as the general polls draw closer.
