The Memphis Tigers women's basketball team maintained a perfect start to their campaign after defeating Middle Tennessee State University to move to a 2-0 record this season.
The result gives the team their second win inside a week, according to the Daily Memphian. It marks a positive beginning for the program under the guidance of new head coach Hana Haden.
Daejah Richmond played a crucial role in the victory, finishing as the leading scorer for Memphis on the night. The former First Assembly Christian School standout contributed 18 points to help secure the result against MTSU.
The program is undergoing a fresh chapter following the arrival of Haden, who took over coaching duties ahead of the new collegiate basketball season. Picking up back-to-back victories in the opening week offers an early boost to the squad as they build momentum for the fixtures ahead.
